Beerntsen Ice Cream, Pancake Breakfast

Yesterday we went to get ice-cream at Beerntsen in Manitowoc after dinner.
We were in town late and the library was closed.
We stopped the van and let the kids use public internet on the main street for half hour.

There're a lot of bunny chocolate in Beerntsen because Easter is coming.
This place has a good chocolate and a great ice cream.
They use marchmellow instead of wipcream. I love it.
I order banana sprit. 3 scoops of ice cream and banana! yummm

The kids ordered one menu each. It's a big ice cream. Japan couldn't finished it at all.
Pooh told us that while we're waiting for ice-cream, Japan bought chocolate and ate it.
He made himself full.

Ice cream made all of us feel cold. After we're full, we ran fast to the van.
George didn't open the lock immediately just to teasing us.

I was so sleepy on the way back. It was only 10 pm.
I think I still have jet lag.

This morning we woke up at 6:30am. The church has Pancake Breakfast.
It's the day that people come to the church to help making pancake, sausages, eggs, donuts.
Then sale the ticket to people in their church commumity. Most of people come because they want to donate money to the church.

George and I told the kids to help out since we stay in their place we should do something to help.
They need a lot of push to stay around and looking to help people.
I have to point out this and that for them.

Finally, they got the drink job. They have to serve people who already got the food and sit down at the table. They have ask people "What do you like for drink?"
They also have to ask when they see somebody out of drink "Do you want some more /milk/juice" and clean up the table after people finish eating.
Dada, Fah and Pooh did it very well. Fah was really serious with her duty. She didn't let any customer out of her sight. Pooh is such a polite boy. He has such a good service mind.
It's cute to see him walking around, asking people what they need, do they need anything else and then stop by to get empty dish to the tash can.

Everything went fine until I sat to eat breakfast. There's a lady came talk to me about her friends in Thailand. And I realized that nobody was in the Pancake area anymore.
So I got up and came find them in the hall way and bedroom, playing on their phone.
I gave them another push. I told them to help and stay in the area until 11 am.
They did pretty well after that but when George came back from dropping June at her host family's house in town.
The kids were disappear again! This time only Carrot and Didi. George couldn't find them at first.
But I have a good assitant telling me everything.

George got them out from hiding under the table in the bedroom.
They came back to help again but George took Carrot's phone away.
Just like we mention before, sometime the phone or iPad need to go.

Around noon, The kids made gifts for schools and host families. They also made cards for each gifts.
George slept in the afternoon for 3 hours. He worked late last night and woke up too early.

After finished with the gift, the kids had free time all day. We tried to make them go outside because today's weather was very warm. They didnt' go anywhere until In's host family from last year visit us.

In met her ex-host family and all the siblings.
They went to play in the playground outside. They played tag and freezed.
I can see that they had a lot of fun playing together. Win kept saying the girls run so slow.
I think all the Thai kids are best friends now.

George cooked pasta for dinner. I was so hungry, also the kids.
In's host family picked her up early. So In goes home with her host family today.
We have only 7 kids left(June and In are gone)

About Carrot's phone and iPad, we think we're going to keep it with us for a couple days after she goes with her host family.

It's not about Carrot using it too much but more like using it in the wrong time.
The main concern is she really attached to June and Didi. At the roller skate she didn't try to talk or spend time with her host family at all. She didn't talk to any American at Divine Savior School either. Clearly Carrot doesn't feel the need of making friends when Didi and June are around.
We don't want Carrot to use internet at her host family house chatting in Thai with June and Didi all day without trying to make friend with her host sibling. It's most likely to happen from our point of view.

Today after we took her phone, she finds things to do. She's bored so she draws, she plays outside.
We think she did great without her phone.

This is the best way to help her out to force herself to talk and make new friends instead of talking with Didi and June all times. This is good for Carrot and 3 hosts families. (Carrot, June and Didi' host family)
So for this week, Carrot will use her host family computer or the school's computer to update her blog and talk to her family. If she does well, we'll discuss about giving her phone back again later.

To remind all the parents again, tomorrow all the kids will be separate to each family.
This is the time that homesickness will come in. Be prepare!  Don't be surprise if your child call with tear.
If you have any concern, please call us.
George and I will have internet immediately after send all the kids to their host family.
It'd be so easy to contact us.

Can't wait to see how it goes!

Oh I forget to tell the funniest story.
Carrot and Didi ran into the building and scream my name " P'patttt P'pattttttt" so laud.
I thought there's fire somewhere or something. But they ran to me and

Carrot and Didi say "P'Pat, Micheal ( a boy they like) send Win an email that "he needs some fans" Akkkkkk he likes us. He wants girlfriends! He is coming to choose one of us"
Me : But FANS doesn't mean FAN in Thai so it doesn't mean girlfriends but it means fan clubs
Carrot and Didi say " Oh really"
Carrot "Oh that's why he put "s" after the word "fan" I thought he wants a lot of girlfriends."
Carrot and Didi "Sadddddd"

Hahahahahahahaha They're too funny sometimes.
